Senegal: Industrial Output Up Again

Some good news for President Macky Sall ahead of the elections on July 30. Industrial production in Senegal increased by 3.3% y/y during May of 2017, beating a 2.7% gain in April. Output picked up for construction materials, food and energy but fell back for chemicals, mining, and paper and cardboard.

Consumer prices in Cape Verde jumped by 1.7% y/y in June of 2017, following a 0.3 percent rise in April and May. The June print was the highest since April of 2013. Consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent on the month.
